On this historical tour you will visit Agrigento and Piazza Armerina with an English-speaking guide. The city of Agrigento was founded as Akragas around 582 B.C. by a group of colonists from the Greek Islands of Rhodes and Crete. The guide will take you through the city while learning the history. Within two hours you will reach Villa Romana del Casale at Piazza Armerina, one of the most important archaeological sites from Roman times. The nearly 3500 square meters of colored mosaics covering the floor of the villa have survived almost intact and earned the Roman residence an inscription as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
