STASI Museum
On January 15, 1990, protesters occupied the STASI headquarters; overnight, STASI was disbanded by the Berlin Citizens' Committee, and the headquarters were converted into a museum with immediate effect.STASI was the primary security and intelligence service, as well as investigative agency, for political crimes in the GDR. The intelligence service relied on a corps of spies and informers – and there were many of them. There are stories of husbands and wives both being STASI spies and reporting each other to STASI.
You can see STASI chief Erich Mielke's office, meeting rooms and the site's canteen, where a GDR film is shown. The museum also has an exhibition of spy equipment, banners, orders, busts and censored artists' works, as well as visual material about forced displacements in the border area
The price is per school group up to 30 people incl. admission and 1 hour tour with German, English or Danish speaking guide.
