Whales of Iceland & Whale Safari

Make the most of it and combine two tours, "Whales of Iceland" & "Whale safari".
We suggest that you visit to the museum "Whales of Iceland" first. The exhibition has 23 man-made life size models of whales found in Icelandic waters. The museum features underwater ambient lighting, whale sounds and black and yellow beach-like floor to give you a realistic experience.
At the museum you can try virtual reality glasses and get the feeling of being right next to the whales.
For groups of 10 people, a guided tour of the exhibition is included. On the tour bones and teeth are examined. The duration of the guided tour is approx. 45 mins.
It is also possible to download an audio guide app. The duration of the audio guide tour is approx. 30 mins.
After the visit you can use your newly acquired knowledge on a whale safari tour at the open Icelandic waters. The boat heads out from the Old Harbor in Reykjavik and you will be on the water for 3-3,5 hours. There are whales around Iceland all year around, but the peak season is March-November. On board the ship there are educational materials for school groups.
Whale watching is an experience you will never forget and a trip to Iceland is not complete without the whale safari. If you do not see whales on the tour, you will be offered a replacement tour.
