Join a half-day or a one-day tour by bus to Windsor and visit Windsor Castle, official residence of Queen Elizabeth II and therefore the oldest occupied castle in the world.The original castle was founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, but the castle’s present appearance is due to alterations in the 19th century.
In 1992, part of the castle was destroyed by fire but it has now been restored and is open to the public.
The fantastic State Apartments are luxuriously decorated and there is a fine collection of masterpieces by artists, Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael, Michelangelo, Rubens, Van Dyck, and many others.
The surrounding city and the beautiful park is certainly contributing to making Windsor Castle worth a visit.
