Visit at the village Yenikoy-Sile
About two hours’ drive from Istanbul is this small village with 700 inhabitants. The village is located close to The Black Sea and the main industries are bee-keeping, forestry and cattle breeding. You will visit the city’s mosque and meet the local Imam who will tell you about village life. You will have the opportunity to ask questions. Afterwards you will visit local inhabitants who will show their residences and answer your questions. The visit also includes tastes of the famous Turkish pastry and the home made ayran (a drink consisting of yogurt and water). The visit at the village takes 1.5 - 2 hours. On your way back you can stop at Üsküdar, Istanbul’s oldest suburb on the Asian side. This neighborhood has a charming city life, tranquil squares and a busy shopping district with a wealth of restaurants and cafés. It’s possible to visit the Mihramah Sultan Mosque, the Maiden’s Tower and mount Camlica, the highest point in Istanbul with a fantastic view of the Bosporus Strait.
