Panoramic half-day sightseeing tour
This sightseeing starts from Piazza del Plebiscito with the Royal Palace and the church of San Francesco di Paola. Other surrounding buildings include the Palazzo Salerno and the Prefecture Palace.
The tour continues to the Castel Nuovo, a medieval castle located in front of Piazza Municipio and the city hall (Palazzo San Giacomo), whose scenic location and imposing size makes the castle, first raised in 1279, one of the main architectural landmarks of the city.
Your walk will continue through the streets of the center Via Toledo and you will pass important sites of the city, e.g. Galleria Umberto I, Teatro San Carlo (the most important Opera House of the city), the Basilica of Santa Chiara (a religious complex) and Via San Gregorio Armeno, a narrow street famous for artisans’ shops and the nativity scenes.
The tour will end at the Dom, which is widely known as the Cattedrale di San Gennaro, in honor of Saint Januarius, the city's patron saint.
